Vintage make-up is one of the easiest things to do in my opinion! you can go simple or full glamour!! here I will state what you can do to give that vintage/retro feel. your face ans smile is one of the firsts things others see when they meet you or look at your social media (depending on what you post) so here are some ways to give a more classic vibe to your make-up style.
Eyes! they always get the most attention, applying eye-shadow, mascara and eyeliner to ones hearts content!!.
If you are into a more subtle vintage eye here are some tips and tricks.
you don't need heaps of eyeliner just a natural brown or black sweep across the upper lash line, adding a small wing if you choose, some also like to take a soft sweet around the bottom lash line to their taste. this still gives the appearance of being more put together and making your lashes seem thicker and fuller. For eyeshadow natural colours are the way to go!
warm browns, pinks and peaches,
still making your eyes pop!
as you can see the great Lilly Jarlsson does beautifully here (above)^^^^
Moving onto mascara, its pretty self explanatory... chose your favourite black or brown mascara and start applying as you would usually! now eyebrows you can fill or leave natural, I personally prefer to fill to my natural shape but many prefer a slightly thinner eyebrow maybe arched or with a small curve (see below image)
and now you can move onto lips and base (you can apply you base/foundation first I am just doing this order)
Eyes for the glamour vintage style is just as easy!!.
when doing eyeliner (brown or black shade) you can go nuts! as big a cat eye you wish some like to take the eyeliner onto the bottom lash line to add more definition.
<<as you see youtuber Annalee doing.
With the eyeshadow you want to add a light natural shade as a base and fill/define your crease with a slightly darker shade for making your eyes really stand out! then highlighting the brow bone and inner corner. Moving on to mascara, you can apply (preferable black) as much as you choose and even eyelash extensions to give the dramatic glamorous look. When it come to your glamorous eyebrows you want to define them more giving them an arch
Lips! for glamour and soft vintage lipstick there are endless possibilities, but the most
distinct factor of the vintage lip is the shape, you can do this or just apply your shade as you chose.
The shape is simple just soften the cupids bow, you can see photos i have provided in this blog or look at Marylin Monroes lipstick.
The shades you want to be reds, corals and pinks
I put some images here to give some examples. once you get your hands on a few shades its simple!
Base! you foundation/concealer for the Soft vintage look should be very minimal.
After washing and moisturising the face you want to apply a simple primer, prepping the skin. Using what ever base product you prefer but applying only a natural coverage, don't apply too heavy or this could make it look very cakey. then use concealer or what ever else you wish, setting with a light brush of powder.
once you have done this you can apply rouge to the cheeks for a warm rosy glow to complete!
For the Glamorous vintage look you want to Prep the skin as you would for the soft look, then apply a foundation (foundation will give a flawless finish). Blend the foundation into the skin then use your concealer to fix any trouble spots on the face, again blending into the skin and
setting with powder. Once you have done this you can then contour your cheekbones, nose and forehead, apply a nice rouge onto the cheeks and use a highlighter on the tip of your nose and cheek bones to had a defined stunning finish to your look
